I am writing to you in my capacity as Senior Chaplain at Northampton General Hospital. I have been advised by the Hospital Management team that all clergy should not visit parishioners or members of their congregations under any circumstances whether that is general pastoral visiting, or to administer the sacraments, including Anointing and Commendation.

If you wish your parishioner/church member to receive pastoral and sacramental care please contact the Chaplaincy Department. In an emergency please contact the Hospital Switchboard  (01604) 634 700 and ask them to bleep the on-call chaplain.

In a non-emergency please contact me directly using the following contact details;

Direct Dial: 01604 545 773

E-mail: [email protected]

Hospital Mobile: 07785 451 640

We are looking into the possibility of using screen technology, ie. Skype, Facetime, etc to enable contact between yourselves and parishioners/members of your church. My colleague Craig Shaw is away on annual leave this week, on his return I will send his contact details onto you and update you regarding this rapidly changing situation.

With every good wish,

Revd. George Sarmezey,

Chaplaincy Department,

Northampton General Hospital
