Helpers needed

To prepare for the possibility of activating SWEP, we are in the process of recruiting as many volunteers as possible so that rough sleepers can be provided with a safe and warm place to stay and receive support.

Please circulate the following information to all of your contacts who may wish to support when SWEP is activated.

When the overnight temperature in Northampton falls to 0ºC or below and the Met Office forecasts that the freezing temperatures will continue for at least three consecutive nights, this is likely to increase the risk of serious harm to people sleeping rough.  So, a temporary shelter will operate from the Hope Centre in Oasis House for men and women who are sleeping rough in Northampton and have registered for the scheme.

DONATIONS FOR SWEP Donations of food and warm clothing are always welcome so, if you would like to make donations when SWEP is operational, please contact Tara Scarth (our Single Homelessness Pathway Manager): 01604 838 416
