Is God asking YOU to help CTN move forward in its mission?

This is why Churches Together in Northampton exists –

 JOHN 17:20-23
(Jesus prayed) 20My prayer is not for these alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, 21that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. 22I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one: 23I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.
The burden of this prayer is simple: that all disciples of Jesus might be united as one body (vs 21,23), and be a key actor in the world, recognising the truth and wonder of the Gospel of God’s love for us and the world. This unity reflects the unity of Father and Son (vs 21,22). The life we share as believers is nothing less than a sharing in the life of the Godhead – it is participating in the unity of God! It is brought about by Jesus giving us the glory that the Father had given to him (v 22). This unity is meant to make a deep impact on the world and cause it to believe (v 21). It is a unity that the world is meant to see. It is a unity that is meant to bring forth faith, to make the gospel known (v 20)
There is no other organisation in Northampton which has such a potential to unite all Northampton churches in the work God has given us:-
to share the good news we have received,
to love one another so that we are encouraged in our witness to the Gospel,
to show our love for “the world” by words and deeds of loving kindness as well as bold challenges to injustice and anything that denies people that fullness of life which Jesus offered and we offer in his name.

can YOU help CTN move forward?

Churches Together in Northampton needs people (YOU?) to help take its work forward. Especially needed are a new moderator and a new secretary, but also new members of the enabling group.

If you feel you could take on any of these roles, please contact the present secretary, Ted Hale (tel: 01604-762305
