Northampton Reclaim the Night event November 24th

November 24 @ 10:45 pm

Please help to spread the word for our Reclaim the Night event – or join in.

24 November at 22:45 to Midnight

Reclaim the Night, or Take Back the Streets in some areas, is an International movement highlighting the dangers that women face when on the streets alone at night.  This will be our 5th event in Northampton and each year it seems to grow and each year it seems more relevant and necessary that we should be raising awareness of these issues.  Last year was our biggest event so far, with a couple of hundred people walking in memory of India Chipchase.

This year we leave from the Co-Op on Wellingborough Road at 10.45pm and walk along the Wellingborough Road, finishing at All Saints Church around midnight.  We do hope you will be able to join us on the night and also that you would be able to help us to reach more local people by sharing it on social media and inviting colleagues.  The recent #metoo campaign has highlighted the huge numbers of women (and some men) who have suffered harassment, abuse and sexual violence on our streets and with more and more women speaking out we feel that this year’s event is even more relevant than ever before.

Here is the link to the event on Facebook.  Please feel free to forward this email or share the link with anyone you feel would like to join us.

 Kind regards
