About CTN

CTN is a voluntary association of representatives from all the major traditional denominations, along with many other churches now worshiping in Northampton; and a number of Christian-based charitable organisations.

CTN has links with wider inter-church organisations as a member of Churches Together in Northants and Peterborough (Shire and Soke)www.shireandsoke.org.uk.

CTN is also in membership with Churches Together in England and The World Council of Churches.

The Aims of Churches Together in Northampton & District are…

  • To encourage the churches, as pilgrims together, to develop growing relationships and to seek a common mind
  • To encourage churches to worship, pray and reflect together on the nature and purpose of the church in the light of its mission – each church sharing with others the treasures of its tradition
  • To encourage the churches to respond to the need of society and to witness to the Gospel together
  • To encourage the churches to live and share the Gospel, to evangelise together and to take further steps towards full unity.

In particular Churches Together in Northampton & District seeks to:

  • Serve as a means of communion between churches and local Churches Together groups;
  • Provide a focus for relating to the local authority and other statutory or voluntary bodies;
  • Provide a resource for mission and evangelism as appropriate across Northampton & District.
